We offer several designated marshalling points within BC including Nanaimo, Vancouver, Kelowna, Kamloops, Williams Lake, Prince George, Smithers, and Calgary, AB.Role PurposeReporting to the Superintendent Business Improvement, the Business Improvement Leader is responsible for developing and supporting business improvement initiatives and managing the improvement pipeline across the Red Chris Mine value chain – Deliver the company wide Edge Performance program. The successful candidate will benchmark site performance, identify opportunities for improvement, assist in building business cases, and track initiative progress. Strong data interpretation and visualization skills are critical to the role’s effective delivery of performance improvement. The successful candidate will facilitate cross departmental co-operation and collaboration to maximize business value by ensuring site and corporate initiatives are translated into Red Chris business goals.We are seeking an individual for a Fly In, Fly Out opportunity working on a two weeks in, two weeks out rotation.Accountabilities:Safety: Demonstrate absolute commitment and leadership in providing a safe working environment by:

  • Promoting and maintaining a culture of ‘safe production’ by compliance with company safety systems, policies, procedures and accountabilities
  • Taking a proactive risk management approach to departmental tasks, i.e., recognise, analyse, respond to ensure risks are at an acceptable level

Technical Accountabilities/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Business or Computer Science.
  • Prioritize value additive change and provide routine updates to the Red Chris improvement initiative pipeline.
  • Benchmarking and business case analysis.
  • Coach line owners to implements their business improvement projects.
  • Skilled trainer to support independent departmental involvement in Business Improvement software suite.
  • Project timeline, budget and value tracking.
  • Strong analytical experience – Value driver trees, Data analytics & visualizations, NPV & FCF analyses, Theory of constraints, Statistical analyses and database proficiency (SQL, PowerBI, Parcview).
  • Strong facilitating skills – idea generating session prep and facilitation, Root cause session facilitation (Kepner-Tregoe or other).
  • Work closely across multiple work areas/disciplines (mine, mill, tailings, warehouse, camp and contractors).
  • Influence people across all work areas and encourage positive and sustainable change.
  • Subject matter expert in business improvement in maintenance, mining and/or mineral processing.
  • Coordinate and facilitate weekly business improvement initiative reviews in pursuit of sustainable, timely implementation.
  • Drive compliance with Red Chris standards, procedures, policies and government legislation.

Qualifications & Experience:Essential:
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and the environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Business or Computer Science.
  • 4-6 years of analytical experience, facilitation experience in the mining, milling, and/or maintenance environments
  • Proficient in the use of value driver trees, Data analytics & visualizations, NPV & FCF analyses, Theory of constraints, Statistical analyses and database proficiency (SQL, PowerBI, Parcview).
  • Subject matter expert in business improvement in maintenance, mining and/or mineral processing
  • Drive compliance with Red Chris standards, procedures, policies and government legislation
Desirable:
  • Benchmarking and business case analysis
  • Skilled trainer to support independent departmental involvement in Business Improvement software suite

  • Previous experience working at a Fly-In / Fly-Out operation
