We offer several designated marshalling points within BC including Nanaimo, Vancouver, Kelowna, Kamloops, Williams Lake, Prince George, Smithers, and Calgary, AB.Role PurposeTo provide expertise to manage the design, procurement, construction, commissioning and close-out to ensure projects are executed in a safe, cost effective and timely manner. Act as project delivery interface to ensure compliance and client expectations are satisfied to approved basis of design including applicable regulatory and code requirements. To provide strong HSE Management and Leadership within the Newcrest project delivery team.We are seeking an individual for a Fly In, Fly Out opportunity working on a two weeks in, two weeks out rotation.Accountabilities:Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Management

  • Maintains HSE focus and compliance throughout project lifecycle.
  • Demonstrate a visible and active commitment to personal well-being, health and safety in the workplace.
Client Relationships
  • Strong client focus and ability to maintain and build long-term relationships.
  • Ensure effective stakeholder engagement and management.
  • Proactively resolve performance, scope and schedule issues with project stakeholders as they arise.
Budget, Schedule & Scope Management.
  • Clear and effective scope definition including managing Management of Change (MOC) processes.
  • Effectively manage assigned project budgets.
  • Effectively manage all project interfaces, including use of High Value Engineering.
  • Plan and prepare accurate project estimates including support for capital expenditure approval process.
  • Develop and take ownership of project schedule to ensure works are executed in a logical sequence.
  • Manage and monitor overall project performance inline with approved project cost and schedule.
Quality Management
  • Utilise strong working knowledge of Newcrest engineering and procurement systems and procedures.
  • Define the project quality requirements and ensure the right systems are implemented.
  • Implement lessons learned within project delivery process.
Project Reporting and Communication
  • Ensure effective communications with the project team.
  • Ensure accurate, regular and effective Client and Newcrest reporting.
  • Ensure ongoing monitoring of the communication network between project team, Client and third parties and introduction of changes where required.
Risk Management and Innovation
  • Identify project risks and opportunities.
  • Monitor closure of all identified risks and opportunities.
  • Risk management focus for project lifecycle including maintaining project risk registers.
Design, Procurement/Subcontracts and Construction Management
  • Effective management of inter-discipline interfaces.
  • Effective management of procurement processes to ensure goods meet specification, are delivered on time and are within budget.
  • Monitor project performance to ensure project safe delivery within scope, cost and schedule objectives.
Qualifications & Experience:Required:
  • Previous technical, practical and leadership experience in the relevant discipline and proven experience in delivering Brownfields projects.
  • Previous technical, practical and commercial experience including proven ability in leading multidiscipline activities. Previous project management experience on projects US$5m - $15m total value. Demonstrable commitment to HSE Management in a project environment, leadership and communication skills and a high level of client/customer focus.
  • A recognised degree in the relevant discipline or equivalent qualification/experience.
  • Eligible for registration with affiliated professional association in the jurisdiction of practice
  • Approximately 8-10 years’ industry experience, with at least 5 years’ experience in project engineering / management with demonstrated experience leading projects teams.
  • Relevant experience sufficient to ensure a thorough understanding of the technical, commercial and managerial aspects of projects.
