We offer several designated marshalling points within BC including Nanaimo, Vancouver, Kelowna, Kamloops, Williams Lake, Prince George, Smithers, and Calgary, AB.ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Human Resource Superintendent, the Human Resource Officer is responsible for providing a broad range of Human Resource (HR) services to all departments on site including:

  • Actively promoting proactive safety behaviours
  • Providing support to the HR Team on the execution of human resource programs such as talent management, compensation and performance management
  • Maintaining HR records and HR Information System
  • Processing all transactional HR related inquiries and activities
  • Mapping, reviewing and making recommendations for process improvements within the HR team
  • Providing HR support to management and employees in areas related to HR Policies and Procedures
  • Participating in and providing support to any HR projects
  • Other duties as required
Qualifications and Experience
  • Diploma with a concentration in Human Resource Management or related discipline combined with a minimum of one to three (1-3) years of related Human Resources experience including experience with involvement in the following areas: compensation & benefits, data analytics, and end to end recruitment and selection
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving capability, the ability to apply considered solutions to problems
  • Expert computer skills including advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proven capacity to deal with conflict in a professional manner with the resilience and confidence to ‘stand your ground’ on contentious issues
  • Proven ability to manage key stakeholder expectations and deliver on outcomes
  • Basic knowledge of human resources principles and relevant legislation
  • Proven ability to demonstrate discretion and confidentiality
