We offer several designated marshalling points within BC including Nanaimo, Vancouver, Kelowna, Kamloops, Williams Lake, Prince George, Smithers, and Calgary, AB.Role PurposeProvide safe, efficient and cost-effective administering of full contracting lifecycles in accordance with legalrequirements and company objectives. Develop and recommend contract strategies (including the identification ofcompensation and market approach models) with the objective of safety improvement, operation continuity, costreduction and compliance, planning and executing Request for Proposal (RFP) processes, evaluating proposals,providing Recommendations to Award (RTA), creating conforming contracts for execution, administering (includingassessment of payment and commercial claims), and closing contracts.We are seeking an individual for a Fly In, Fly Out opportunity working on a two weeks in, two weeks out rotation.Accountabilities:Reporting to the Lead, Procurement & Contracts, you will be responsible for the end-to-end contracts and procurement life cycle. The responsibilities for the role will include:

  • Develop and recommend contract and procurement strategies and plans to Project Owners/Managers, ensuring strategies consider appropriate legal, commercial, and technical approach to scope packaging, bidding, awarding, managing, and closing contracts
  • Develop monthly contract management KPI’s to drive accountability and recognise achievement
  • Lead RFx processes including planning, preparing, and managing of the documents and processes, analysing and evaluating commercial proposals
  • Lead the technical evaluation process in coordination with Project Owners/Managers
  • Negotiate commercial and legal terms
  • Liaises with technical, HSE, legal and other relevant stakeholders in reviewing proposals to mitigate risk exposures
  • Recommend to award approval based on safety improvement, operation continuity, cost reduction and compliance
  • Ensure effective change management to ensure contract modifications are properly documented and approved
  • Ensure contracts are closed out appropriately and in accordance with applicable legislation
  • Ensure all records are managed and retained in correct systems
  • Assist with developing and documenting contracts management policies, procedures, systems and templates
  • Proactively resolve issues that arise between contractors/suppliers and project teams in a professional manner
Qualifications & Experience:The successful candidate will be a clear communicator, with excellent interpersonal skills. Be open and honest with the ability to deliver and receive constructive feedback. You will have a minimum of 7 years full contracts and procurement life cycle experience in mining or heavy industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • SCM certification an asset
  • Experience with SAP and SAP Sourcing an asset
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, including SharePoint
