This role will be a Work From Home arrangement. Site visits may be required occasionally.Who we are looking for:The Purchaser role is required to have a deep understanding of purchasing process, procurement, supply categories, negotiation skills and tactics, global industry trends and supply market dynamics to successfully manage both straight forward and complex purchasing activities and establish commercial arrangements with suppliers delivering sound commercial outcomes agreed with site owners and key stakeholders.This role requires an experienced professional, working together with the site and projects team, Contracts Team, Group Procurement and other key stakeholders to help drive high performance and enable the team to process requisitions and purchase orders for services, goods and equipment at best commercial value to Newcrest.This role will have a fixed-term until September 31, 2022.Accountabilities:

  • Demonstrate absolute commitment and leadership in providing a safe and healthy working environment:

  • Supporting the team to continually improve the operational processes; developing and progressing Continuous Improvement projects
  • Supporting the relevant operational strategies and goals; translating the vision into day to day activities
  • Demonstrating aligned behaviours to the Code of Conduct, Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Conflict of Interest and Fraud Prevention policies ensuring compliance with these
  • Supporting correct application of company disciplinary code, recruitment and promotion processes
  • Demonstrating technical and conceptual excellence in anticipating problems and helping the projects purchasing team to deliver agreed business goals to ensure value for the business is maintained or improved
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to set up work for execution and monitor and report on completion
  • Ensuring work is completed to the required quality and specification
  • Ensuring work is commenced and completed in the agreed timeframe
  • Ensuring feedback on all work completed is recorded, including opportunities for improvement
  • Use of strong interpersonal skills, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills to deliver required outcomes
  • Actively supporting the Community Development initiatives while embedding the Impact, Benefit and Co-Management Agreement (IBCA) in accordance with contract types
  • Manage all information requirements necessary to ensure system and policy compliance as per Newcrest procedures, policies & Supply Standards
  • Ensure SAP pricing are accurately maintained in ‘SAP Sourcing’
Project Purchasing and Contract Support:
  • Collaborate with Red Chris stakeholders to maximise and protect free cash flow value to Newcrest
  • Managing project purchasing activities according to best price, quality, performance and logistics
  • Building and maintaining good working relationships with stakeholders, suppliers and other key stakeholders
  • Working with internal customers to provide a timely and efficient service
  • Being a key point of trusted contact for commercial advice expertise and assisting stakeholders with best practice procurement
  • Working with key leaders, stakeholders and consultants on project procurement planning
  • Managing performance and reporting of key contracts, ensuring contracted services are delivered in accordance with agreed terms
  • Conducting research to identify new markets and alternate sources of existing goods and services
  • Supporting overall suppliers’ evaluation in terms of performance and service
  • Providing a post procurement service, supporting stakeholders on warranties and repairs and return items
  • Develop, lead and improve procurement sourcing strategies, evaluating suppliers and negotiating terms and conditions of contracts in accordance with Newcrest governance
  • Undertaking data analytics and map existing spend and volume identifying cost reduction opportunities and strategies to mitigate risk
  • Improving operational cost analysis as a tool to reduce costs, reduce risks and improve financial performance
  • Negotiating and recording all cost savings in accordance with evaluation standards
  • Conducting audits and prepare financial analysis of vendors contracts
  • Assisting when required on materials and services contract administration
