We offer several designated marshalling points within BC including Nanaimo, Vancouver, Kelowna, Kamloops, Williams Lake, Prince George, Smithers, and Calgary, AB.Purpose of the Role:To provide well rounded and effective leadership to the Warehouse team through a people-centric approach. Leverage existing knowledge and skills to continue to evolve the culture in the warehouse towards safety-first, collaborative and high performance. Coach and mentor Supervisors as well as the rest of the team by understanding the personal drivers of team members. Instill a continuous-improvement approach to seek improvements across all processes, procedures and work flows. Drive accountability and an ownership mindset through empowerment of the team.Working 100% of the time in the section space, with a time horizon (planning focus) of 3 – 12 months.Accountable for the overall management of supply and logistics at Red Chris.We are seeking an individual for a Fly In, Fly Out opportunity working on a two weeks in, two weeks out rotation.Accountabilities:The key outcomes for the Supply & Logistics Superintendent through inspired leadership focused on duty of care, operational discipline, value creation and continuous improvement are:

  • Zero harm to personnel, business partners, the environment and impacted communities
  • Continuing the evolution of a Newsafe culture within the team
  • Effect sustainable improvement in supervisory and workforce practices to deliver on current and future business
  • Driving operational discipline in alignment with business priorities and expectations
  • Collaborate with peers and management in identifying and pursuing cross discipline initiatives to deliver on business needs
  • Instill a high-performance culture of operational discipline and accountability
  • Lead, coach, mentor and support employees and direct reports
  • Develop the team with succession plans and goals in mind
  • Ensure effective safety and health management across areas of accountability through high standards of housekeeping, effective critical controls and proactive elimination of hazards
  • Promptly investigate all injuries, actual or high potential incidents within your area of responsibility and ensure that corrective actions are completed on time and verified
  • Provide leadership in the identification and management of risk through compliance with risk management processes and practices
  • Elevate emerging issues and concerns to the Departmental Manager for consultation and advice to reach agreed interventions and solutions; report back on the effectiveness
Major responsibilities include:
  • Demonstrate absolute commitment and leadership in providing a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Recognises the importance of Community relations, Environment and Security to the operations environment and manages area of responsibility in recognition of the need to maintain the Social License to Operate.
  • Establish effective budgeting, forecasting, cost management and analysis processes ensuring compliance with company financial and governance policies, procedures and reporting standards.
  • Demonstrate the highest professional and ethical standards ensuring all actions are transparent and in accordance with company policy and values.
  • Demonstrate technical and conceptual excellence in anticipating problems and guiding the team to deliver agreed departmental and business goals to ensure the value of the business is maintained or improved.
  • Demonstrate commitment to delivering on departmental and site business plans; ensuring resources are aligned to the plan.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or Business
  • Minimum 10 years experience in Supply & Logistics
  • SAP experience strongly preferred
  • Mining experience considered an asset
