Job Description

Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC), one of Canada’s leading conservation organizations, is looking for a highly organized, personable and knowledgeable Gift Shop Coordinator/Receptionist to join our team at the Wetland Discovery Centre at Oak Hammock Marsh, Manitoba.This position will be responsible for the planning, development, maintenance, and delivery of a high-quality visitor experience from the point of first contact (Reception, Admissions, Membership, and Gift Shop).In this position, you will oversee all gift shop operations including but not limited to:

  • Conducting receptionist duties for the Gift Shop.
  • Identifying suppliers and purchasing appealing new products for the Gift Shop that compliment Centre/DUC themes and meet the needs of the Centre’s customers.
  • Maintaining an efficient product inventory system.
  • Managing all sales activities such as registering sales, processing payments, and establishing and tracking sales targets.
  • Researching innovative ways to increase sales and source new products.
  • Processing membership sales and renewals into Salesforce.
Requirements
  • Able to work rotating weekends year-round, as well as occasional evenings during the migration season (September-October)
  • Excellent internal/external customer service with strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong administration skills; experience in basic accounting
  • Above average proficiency in Office 365 applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
  • Ability to find solutions to problems quickly (both technical – POS system) and related to customer service.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and supervise staff
  • Innovative and adaptable to change
  • The successful candidate will be required to submit proof of COVID-19 Vaccination.
Assets
  • Certificate/diploma in finance, sales, retail, tourism, or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of Dynamics 365 and Salesforce
  • Familiarity with the non- profit and/or environmental conservation sectors
