The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.Position OverviewThe EMS - Technician Paramedic plays a key role as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Primary responsibilities relate to patient care, professional standards of practice, injury and illness prevention, and ensuring that all equipment and vehicles are maintained in a state of readiness. All duties are performed in accordance with the Emergency Medical Response and Stretcher Transportation Act, The Manitoba Health Emergency Treatment Guidelines, policies and procedures.Functions are conducted in accordance with the Mission and Values of Shared Health, current policies and procedures and applicable legislation.ExperienceNot ApplicableEducation (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Current Licensure from Manitoba Health Emergency Services as a Technician – Paramedic.
  • Current certification in Transfers of Functions consistent with the IERHA EMS Scope of Practice Policy.
  • Training in ACLS / ITLS / PHTLS / First Aid Instructor / CAMATA preferred.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Valid Class 4 Drivers License.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain positive working relationships with staff required.
  • Demonstrated sound organizational skills with self-initiative required.
  • Demonstrated dexterity, speed, and efficient work methods required.
  • Given the cultural diversity of our region, the ability to communicate in more than one language would be considered an asset.
  • Satisfactory employment record.
