Job Description

What your days look like as a water technician:
  • Understand and work on water treatment process guided by an operation plan; and be able to intervene with a problem-solving and scientific approach on the treatment system in case of deviation of the system parameters;
  • Operate process equipment to meet remedial objectives and following directives from project or technical management;
  • Maintain and calibrate process equipment (pumps; tanks, level controllers, pressure loss, filters, vessels, probes and piping)
  • Monitor treatment system performance by taking data measurements and sampling in the field with the required field equipment, probes, indicators and on-site laboratory equipment.
  • Communicate key project indicators from the water treatment system team daily to the project team to monitor ;
  • Maintain a constant safe work environment and upkeep of the system;
To succeed as a water technician, you must have:
  • Excellent problem solution management and observational skills
  • Autonomy and initiative when working on a remote site conditions an asset.
  • Training or significant experience in environmental, water treatment or process is an asset.
  • Able to do physical work when required (lifting a load of 25 kg) a requirement
  • Experience in plumbing or woodworking or piping/plumbing an asset;
  • High School Diploma or equivalent;
  • Valid Drivers license
  • Health and safety training and/or remote site training an asset;
  • Bilingual English and French an asset;
