Job Description

Job Summary:We are looking for a Machine Operator to join our cabinet manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating Pod and Rail Machines, Nest Machines, and Selco Saws to produce high-quality cabinet components. This position is critical to ensuring that the machines run efficiently, with minimal downtime, and that all parts are produced to specification for the next stages of the cabinet production process.Key Responsibilities:Pod and Rail Machine Operation:

  • Set up and operate Pod and Rail CNC machines (e.g., Biesse, Homag, or similar) to machine panels, doors, drawer fronts, and other cabinet components.
  • Load and secure parts using vacuum pods, ensuring correct placement for cutting, drilling, and routing.
  • Monitor machine operation for proper cutting, drilling, and shaping of wood and composite materials.
  • Perform basic machine maintenance, including changing tools and cleaning air filters.
  • Troubleshoot issues such as tool wear, air pressure drops, and alignment problems.
Nest Machine Operation:
  • Set up and operate Nest Machines (CNC routers) for cutting cabinet parts, including shelves, backs, sides, and doors.
  • Program and input cutting sheets from CAD/CAM software for accurate part nesting.
  • Ensure proper alignment and secure placement of materials on the machine bed.
  • Monitor the process for accuracy and quality control, ensuring the correct cut paths are followed.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure parts meet dimensional specifications.
Selco Saw Operation:
  • Set up and operate Selco Saws to cut panels, boards, and sheet goods to the required size for cabinet parts.
  • Program and adjust cutting lists, set the correct blade size, and calibrate saws to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain clean, organized workspaces and ensure that all saw blades are sharpened and maintained.
  • Ensure the proper use of materials, minimize waste, and verify part measurements before cutting.
  • Inspect parts after cutting for quality and report any issues to the supervisor.
General Responsibilities:
  • Conduct pre-production checks to ensure the correct materials, tools, and machines are prepared.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance, including oiling, cleaning, and checking machine components.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure parts meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Perform quality control checks on finished parts to ensure they meet dimensional and aesthetic standards.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and standard operating procedures when operating machines.
  • Communicate any machine issues, material shortages, or quality concerns to the supervisor or maintenance team.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure efficiency and safety.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or training is a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience operating CNC machinery, specifically Pod and Rail Machines, Nest Machines, or Selco Saws.
  • Familiarity with reading , work orders, and cutting sheets.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to measure parts accurately using calipers, tape measures, and other measuring tools.
  • Understanding of different types of wood, plywood, MDF, and other cabinet materials.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks (e.g., bending, lifting, standing) for extended periods.
Hours of Work:
  • Standard workweek is Monday to Friday, 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM.
  • On-site role.
