Position Overview:Velocity Truck Centre Canada, formally known as First Truck Centre, is looking for Heavy Duty Mechanics / Truck and Trailer Technicians in Surrey, BC. to work our Evening shift. This position involves inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of commercial transport vehicles, including trucks, trailers, buses, and other heavy equipment.What #39;s in it for you:

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues in commercial trucks, including engines, transmissions, and braking systems, using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques
• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the safety, reliability, and efficiency of commercial trucks, including engine overhauls, brake adjustments, and suspension repairs
• Replace faulty components with genuine or compatible parts to maintain the functionality and performance of commercial trucks
• Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used to comply with regulatory requirements and facilitate efficient workflow
• Collaborate with team members to prioritize tasks, share knowledge, and deliver exceptional customer service to fleet managers, drivers, and other stakeholders

Qualifications

• Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeyman Certificate, red seal preferred
• Heavy Duty Truck and Trailer Technician Certificate, red seal preferred
• BC Class 5 driver #39;s license (Class 3 with air brakes or Class 1 is considered an asset)
• Must have own tools (required tool list will be provided)
• Mechanically inclined with a strong aptitude for diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance
• Self-starter able to work in a fast-paced, detailed, and process-driven environment
• Ability to work in a physical capacity including heavy lifting and using tools throughout the shift
• Use of computerized scanning equipment, able to use digital technology/mechanical software
