Were a privately owned heavy equipment machine business consisting of eleven branches that operate throughout every region of British Columbia and the Yukon. We are the Volvo distributor for British Columbia and the Yukon, and our product line also includes, Metso crushing and screening equipment, Timberpro feller bunchers, Sennebogen material handlers, and Madill forestry products. This is a permanent, full-time position (40 hours/week). The location of work is our Terrace Branch (3830 Sharples Road, Terrace) and the language of work is English.Youll love working here…….As our Service Supervisor, youll play an integral role in managing the day‐to‐day operation of the service department in compliance with the companys established policies and procedures, as well as ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and safety programs. You will supervise, co-ordinate and schedule tech activities and establish methods to meet schedules and mesh with work activities in other departments. You will also supervise apprentices, service advisors/writers and 3rd party contractors. Working with the branch manager, you play a key role in attaining the companys short and long‐term objectives. As part of the leadership team, you play a key role in recruiting, training and developing our employees.Whats in it for you……Were a growing business in an exciting industry, and were a family. The pay rate is $56.05 per hour, all overtime is double time, and you will also receive performance-based bonus pay.   • Certification. You have done the hard work and training required to earn certification as a Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician. OR, you have equivalent education and experience to enable you to communicate on a technical level with heavy equipment technicians, customers, and OEM resources. You have at least 5 years experience supervising a heavy equipment service department with at least 4 techs and youre ready to apply all that you have learned to make Great West Equipment your customers first choice.
  • Relationship Builder. Youre going to get to know your team, customers, and their equipment and business. Your communication skills, optimism and passion will contribute to improving your teams work experience and the customers business experience.
  • Leadership. You are engaged, focusing your attention on the problem at hand without being distracted. You have a strong understanding of safe work practices, and you are a champion of safety management systems.
  • Tech savvy. You will be comfortable with learning new software and have strong computer skills.
  • Financial Knowledge. You apply financial management principles to ensure decisions are fiscally sound and responsible. You have experience with full-cycle financial management from budgeting to monthly and quarterly analysis and the ability to make decisions to stay on track.
