Successful candidates will have the opportunity to use their scratch cooking skills to instruct individuals in all aspects of a food services training program.Conditions of Employment:

Qualifications:Essential:
  • Completion of a recognized food services diploma or certificate and related experience in commercial cooking or equivalent combination of education and training
  • Experience in food preparation
  • Experience in storage, sanitation and safety
  • Experience in portion control, menu planned an analysis
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience training or instructing others
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experience working in a team environment

Duties:Under the general supervision of the Food Services Manager, the incumbent of this position is responsible for the preparation of meals, the supervision of offenders engaged in the preparation of meals and general kitchen duties. The incumbent also instructs offenders in the on-the-job training aspects of the food services training program. The incumbent will prepare and supervise the preparation of meals to ensure that high quality food preparation standards and meal standards are maintained at all times.
