Successful candidates usually start as a Clerk of Court 3 (CC3) and with training/experience, progress to the Clerk of Court 4 (CC4) level.Conditions of Employment:

Qualifications:Essential:

• Significant administrative/clerical experience in a court, legal or related environment
• Experience with court processes and procedures
• Excellent organizational and time management skills including the ability to handle multiple tasks in pressure situations with strict deadlines
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to resolve conflict
• Ability to maintain accuracy and pay attention to detail
• Effective analytical and problem solving skills with proven ability to make sound decisions
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as contribute to a respectful workplace
• Excellent English verbal communication skills with the ability to project vocally without error
• Excellent written communication skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) or equivalent programs

Duties:The incumbent will be required to perform various duties taking from three different type of court related roles. The duties are taken from the Trial Coordinator, Deputy Registrar and Staff Justice of the Peace positions.As a Trial Coordinator, the incumbent is responsible for all aspects of trial and motion coordinating in the areas of civil, criminal and family law in Court of Queen’s Bench. Duties include: control and maintain master diary for all Queens’ Bench and Provincial Court sittings, scheduling hearing times for pre-trials and pleas in accordance with policy and procedure, court proceedings, and teleconference hearings, and performing other pre and post court related duties. The incumbent is expected to maintain effective communication with judges, legal profession, police, public, crown and other court offices, act as liaison and provide assistance when required.As a Deputy Registrar, the incumbent will review, file and process documents under the Queens Bench Rules, various federal/provincial Statutes/Acts and Regulations, register and issue all court pleadings and processes in all divisions of the Court and enter pertinent information on the Registry system according to a standards manual.As a Staff Justice of the Peace, incumbent must hold a designation as a Staff Justice of the Peace and perform the duties of these positions.
