Smooth Commerce provides an end-to-end seamless platform that retail businesses and their customers use for ordering through to delivery.About the role:Smooth Commerce is looking for a Finance Supervisor to join our finance team. As the Finance Supervisor at Smooth Commerce, you will be responsible for working in close collaboration with our Finance Controller to meet the finance team’s objectives.What will you be doing

  • Support in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
  • Preparation of weekly cash flow forecasts.
  • Coordinate with the finance team as well as external accountants and auditors to implement company-wide controls and assist with the annual assurance engagement.
  • Monitor controls around all aspects of the business, including but not limited to; expense reimbursements, company payables, accounts receivable collections, revenue recognition, tracking the percent of completion on projects, bank accounts etc.
  • Revenue recognition and booking oversight
  • Conducting accounting activities, timely financial reporting, supporting projects, ensuring the timely coordination of billing and collection activities, accounts payable, etc.
  • Prepare, calculate and submit quarterly PST & GST/HST returns.
  • Assist the finance team with data and analytics.
  • Support Finance Controller with internal and board reporting to the executive team.
What are we looking for
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance and/or related field is required.
  • Pursuit or recent accomplishment of a formal finance designation is preferred.
  • 5+ years of finance and/or accounting experience with progressive responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of key accounting principles.
  • Analytical thinker who can take detailed/complex information and convert it to meaningful business insights, recommendations and actionable next steps.
  • Flexible, curious, open-minded, and enjoy working in a fast-paced working environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated skills and abilities in providing strategic advice and expertise to senior management.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
