Job Description

Overview:Adastra Corporation is hiring! We are looking for a self-motivated HR Assistant to join our Human Resources Team. In this dynamic support role, the HR Assistant will gain first-hand exposure in a wide range of HR activities in a fast-paced environment to support various processes throughout the hiring, onboarding, and employee lifecycle. The ideal candidate is highly organized and detail-oriented, a proactive team player with strong multitasking capability, has excellent verbal and written English communication skills, and a passion for all things HR.Location: Work from home, with some limited onsite work in Markham, ONStatus: Contract (Temporary six-month employment)Work Hours: 40-hour work week, flex hours. Will be required to be available online for 1-2 hours per day between Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm.Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and provide employment letters, reference letters, etc. for current and past employees and contractors
  • Track employee probation periods, collect feedback and send probation gifts
  • Administer employee benefits program and reconcile monthly bills
  • Maintain employee vacation entitlement and track, approve and reconcile absences for all staff
  • Prepare monthly HR reports
  • Assist the HR team with various ongoing initiatives as needed, which may include company events, HR system implementation, recruitment, employer branding, employee engagement, HR policies and programs, and retention programs
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
  • Previous administrative experience preferred
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to juggle multiple competing priorities
  • Stellar written and verbal English communication skills
  • Solid computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Strong interpersonal skills and social aptitude
  • A proactive and self-motivated attitude
