Job Description

Empower pharmacy is looking to hire a dedicated pharmacy assistant who is committed to providing compassionate patient care, specializing in compounding. Daily tasks will be to satisfy all prescription processing duties related to compounding, such as data entry, preparing mixtures, packaging, record keeping, quality assurance, management of inventory, maintaining sanitary workspace and equipment.We are searching for an energetic and driven individual who would like to join a dynamic team who is interested in expanding their skills in compounding.Qualifications:

  • 1 year pharmacy experience
  • Compounding experience will be prioritized
  • Fillware experience (highly recommended)

  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Documentation skills
  • Detail-oriented, ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Able to work in a team
  • Excellent communication skills, and interpersonal skills.
  • Math and computational skills
Daily Tasks:
  • Maintain inventory of pharmacy and compounding supplies
  • Compounding various non-sterile dosage forms including capsules, creams, troches, suppositories, suspensions, as per master formulation record, and risk assessment record
  • Using compounding equipment such as capsule machine, unguator, hot plate, weight scale, and other apparatus
  • Sanitizing compounding equipment and fume hood, according to USP NAPRA safety standards
  • maintain respective maintenance and calibration logs
  • Properly package compounding medications and filling other medications
  • Using SOPS and gowning techniques to ensure all procedures and done in safe,
  • Complete pharmacy documents, such as the batch records, housekeeping logs and other documents as required, right at first time up to standard manner
  • Using cash register and processing payments
  • Managing pharmacy delivery software
What education is an asset
  • Highschool diploma
  • Post-Secondary education in science and chemistry
  • Knowledge and experience working in a NAPRA regulated environment
  • WHIMIS, NIOSH, Hazardous product act, and respective safety with managing hazardous chemicals
  • Following all protocols as per NAPRA guidelines.
Job Type: Full-timeSalary: $34,000.00-$45,000.00 per yearSchedule:
  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
