Proof of vaccination is to be provided upon offer of employment.Position SummaryA strategic thinker, the role of the Data Analyst is to constantly review and analyze CAA Niagara’s business data, and based on this, optimize business operations. The position identifies loopholes and focuses on making the system more efficient and less costly.With the use of data analysis tools, the analyst will identify key insights that lead to better informed and successful decision-making.Overall, the data analyst is someone who has the knowledge and skills to turn raw data into information, meaningful statistics, and insight, which can be used to make business decisions.Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis role is responsible for organizing data related to sales numbers, market research, logistics, linguistics, or other behaviours.

• Utilize technical expertise to ensure data is accurate and high-quality.
• Detect insights and analyze hypotheses through data
• Use automated tools to extract data from primary and secondary sources
• Remove corrupted data and fixing coding errors and related problems
• Develop and maintain databases, data systems – reorganizing data in a readable format
• Develop and deliver required business dashboards
• Perform analysis to assess the quality and meaning of data
• Filter Data by reviewing reports and performance indicators to identify and correct code problems
• Use statistical tools to identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends in complex data sets that could be helpful for the diagnosis and prediction
• Analyze data so that business performance can be assessed and compared over periods of time
• Analyze local, national, and global trends that impact both the organization and the industry
• Prepare reports for management, showcasing trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data
• Work with IT staff, other departments, and management to identify process improvement opportunities, propose system modifications, and devise data governance strategies
• Prepare final analysis reports for the stakeholders to understand the data-analysis steps, enabling them to take important decisions based on various facts and trends

• Knowledge of how to create and apply the most accurate algorithms to datasets in order to find solutions
• Technical proficiency with ability of data mining
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Adept at queries, writing reports, and making presentations
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Strong critical thinking skills
• Systematic and logical approach to problem-solving

Education & Experience

• Post Secondary Education in related field or equivalent work experience
• Fully proficient and hands-on experience in PowerBI, SQL, Microsoft Excel
• Experience in data reporting, creating, and designing reports and troubleshooting reporting.
• Ability to learn and understand CAA Niagara business processes, the market, and how to apply data to improve business results

• Dedicated In office work environment, with majority of work hours within main office
• Ad-hoc/Informal flex availability (varying hours, remote work at times)
• Frequent communication with others
• Ability to sit/stand when required
