  • Opens and closes facility as per procedures.
  • Maintains a safe facility for program participants, groups, and volunteers.
  • Answers telephone and community inquiries concerning the operation and services at the facility; directs calls, provides facility tours and directs messages to the appropriate person.
  • Records any changes or unusual events including completion of required accident / incident forms, stats, reports etc., and reporting them to Supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Caters to special requirements requested by groups or individuals renting the facility, including coffee orders, use of kitchen, and AV equipment.
  • Performs clerical-related duties and computer work such as letters, posters, photocopying, facility bookings, social media and mail outs.
  • Prepares and balances daily cash deposits as needed.
  • Provides assistance with room set up as required; collects and washes dirty dishes from rooms; ensures rooms are left in a tidy manner and puts equipment and supplies away.
  • Responds to emergency situations (evacuation, first aid etc.) Administers first aid as required, completes required paperwork and reports in a timely manner.
  • Collects drop-in passes, monitors registration and ensures controlled access to classes as required.
  • Uses software and related equipment to process registrations, bookings and payments as required.
  • Monitors facility for user need, suspicious behaviour, and general cleanliness and responds accordingly.
  • Checks signage and bulletin boards and makes or recommends changes.
  • Compiles User statistics and completes daily logs.
  • Participates in training and meetings as required.
  • Supervise volunteers in the completion of their daily tasks.
  • Performs such other related duties as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:Education/Experience:
  • Must have secondary school diploma
  • Must also have some office experience, including working with a computer.
Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to deal with the public in a courteous and tactful manner
  • Demonstrated customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to problem solve
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT:
  • Will be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Must have Level C CPR with AED and valid Standard First Aid certificates
  • Must undergo a successful Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC)
