Social Accountability and Learning Health Systems Associate Scientist(2 year contract).The Thunder Bay Regional Health Research Institute (TBRHRI) and the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre (TBRHSC), in partnership with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM), invites applications for a new Social Accountability and Learning Health Systems Associate Scientist (2 year contract).This joint position will focus on the development, implementation, and evaluation of learning health systems research in Northern Ontario; with an emphasis on the integration and impact of educational and health systems research. The individual will provide expertise and an analytical approach to the development and implementation of new initiatives in the area of implementation science, social accountability, and learning health systems. Furthermore, the candidate will guide and participate in the operational activities and research directives related to the Northern Ontario School of Medicine Research Toward Health Hub (NORTHH), within the Centre for Social Accountability at NOSM. This will include the development of date infrastructure, evaluation processes, and knowledge translation strategies, to support embedding education within the learning health system.The Associate Scientist is expected to complement research underway at the TBRHRI/TBRHSC and NOSM. The individual will have expertise in health systems research related to Northern Ontario and rural communities, as well as expertise in health professional education research, with a focus on social accountability. The candidate will have demonstrated capacity to lead an internationally recognized independent program of research, as well as secure new external funding and establish robust research collaborations. Furthermore, supervision of graduate students in an effort to attract, develop, and retain future researchers is expected. The candidate will have a completed PhD in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Services Research, Health Informatics, and/or other related fields.NOSM is an award‑winning socially accountable medical school renowned for its innovative model of distributed, community‑engaged education, and research.
