We are focused on being the #1 Canadian Infrastructure Company and the first choice employer in our industry.Position OverviewThe Shoreline Power Group is a Joint Venture of Aecon, AECOM and SNC-Lavalin. Shoreline Power Group will be completing the Fuel Channel and Feeder Replacement (FCFR) project. The joint venture has been awarded a contract by Bruce Power to execute the Unit 6 FCFR at the Bruce Nuclear Generating Station in Kincardine, Ontario.This project is part of Bruce Power’s Life Extension Program, which will allow Bruce Power’s CANDU units to continue to operate safely through to 2064, the project is the centrepiece of the Major Component Replacement (MCR) program to replace the main components of the reactor. Unit 6 is the first of six reactors being replaced by Bruce Power through the MCR program.The scope of work includes the removal and replacement of calandria tubes, pressure tubes, and feeders for Unit 6, as well as construction management and trade labour. Work is scheduled to commence in June 2020, with expected completion in the third quarter of 2022.Under the general direction of the Area Manager/Feeder Superintendent, the Instrument and Tubing General Forman will assist in the coordination and scheduling of Removal and install activities paying attention to the Removals and Install Series requirements of the project. The Instrument and Tubing General Foreman will also coordinate the sequencing of work activities, status the work, in coordination with the Instrument and Tubing Series Lead.Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain excellent relationships with client, engineers, consultants, subcontractors and public
  • Responsible to ensure that all work is conducted in a safe manner in compliance with safety, quality and human performance policies.
  • In collaboration with Instrument and Tubing Series lead. Utilize project master schedule to create detailed look ahead schedules for forecasting and planning
  • Assist in developing recovery strategies when project schedule or budget are in jeopardy
  • Plan and approve the work of own forces and subcontractors on the project including determining methods of construction, manpower levels, materials, tools & equipment, rentals and work schedules
  • Assume responsibility for the efficient use of materials and equipment and contractual performance of the project
  • Ensure trades personnel complete all necessary training in areas of safety, quality assurance, technical qualifications, equipment operation and owner specified requirements
  • Ensure project is constructed in compliance with drawings, specifications, Field Work Packages (FWPs), Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and project schedule and budget
  • Interface with client representatives, design engineers, consultants, other contractors, etc. as required
  • Ensure the work is carried out in accordance with QA Programs and project quality guidelines
  • Maintain appropriate field documentation including safety records, daily progress reports, training records, T&E and rental records, manpower reports, owner support requests, FWP documents, etc.
  • Participate in basic layout, preparation of work instructions, field engineering activities, etc.
Required Knowledge and Experience
  • Education to include a technical college diploma or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience.
  • Minimum 5 years construction experience
  • Ability to successfully coordinate a construction project
  • Knowledge of all aspects of construction such as; technology, equipment, methods, trade agreements and jurisdiction, engineering, cost control, scheduling and safety requirements
  • Good communication, organizational and supervisory skills are essential
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Basic presentation skills
