Job Description

Short SummaryThe Accounting Assistant II is responsible for Accounts Payable functions, including processing all invoices and payment vouchers related to CN Tower business purchases and ensuring all invoices and payment vouchers received have been approved in accordance with the Delegation of Authority (DOA). Timely and accurate payment to CN Tower vendors is critical to ensuring the business operates without interruptions. In addition, the Accounting Assistant is responsible for reviewing and verifying all point-of-sale (“POS”) system reports to ensure proper authorization, in compliance with the applicable policies and procedures, and safeguards against monetary theft. The role also documents all revenue that the Company receives, maintaining records used by the Company to perform required financial procedures.Job DescriptionInvoice and Payment Processing

  • Receive invoices arriving by postal or email and digitally forward to the corresponding department for review, coding, and approvals.
  • Verify all invoices for arithmetical accuracy and compliance with contracts.
  • Ensure invoices are approved according to the Delegation of Authority (DOA).
Revenue Management and Reconciliation of CN Tower Sales
  • Review and verify the daily Attractions, Food and Beverage, and Retail Store revenue
  • Open, review, and record all cashier/wait staff envelopes, verifying cash (including cheques) and electronic payment sales balances to backup, reads, and bank deposits
  • Input and update information where necessary
Management Reports and Month-End Responsibilities
  • Preparation of daily and weekly flash reports
  • Preparation of all Food and Beverage monthly internal business expense reports
  • Preparation of all month-end related entries such as Staff meals, Group comps
Liaise with Canada Lands Company (“CLC”) Head Office, Internal, and External AuditorQualifications
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business, Finance or Accounting is an asset
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of progressive accounting experience required
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards and Hubble software is an asset
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
  • Must possess excellent accounting skills to ensure accuracy
