We embrace diversity and offer a fast-paced work environment.Job DescriptionGENERAL FUNCTION

  • The Application Support Manager reports to the Director of IT Service Delivery and oversees a diverse team of Support Engineers and Developers with regards to the installation, maintenance, and monitoring of software applications, in order to improve & support business operations. Responsibilities include complex analysis of software systems, optimizing software application performance, installing updates, performing debugging procedures, prioritizing bug fixes, SQL scripting of manual data corrections, attending meetings related to software issues or performance, and working with internal business partners on IT system issues.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage a support team to secure fitness of IT resources and resolve all problems.
  • Provide technical support for all IT applications and resolve issues.
  • Ensure effective front-end and back-end functionality of applications.
  • Establish the root causes of application errors, and escalation of serious concerns to IT development & programming teams.
  • Evaluate all problems, perform impact analysis, and recommend solutions and workarounds.
  • Provide clear documentation of identified problems, its analysis, impact analysis, and solutions.
  • Be aware and comply with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements for US and Canada Anti-Money Laundering, and BSA.
  • Coordinate bug-fix activities with 3rd party support teams across three geographies (North America, Uruguay, India).
  • Assist representatives from counterparts of application and resource planning and comprehend all business requirement and prepare documents.
  • Coordinate with development team and provide support to all onshore and offshore resources.
  • Supervise everyday requests for matters related to IT operations, resources and vendors, and resolve issues related to production and development environments.
  • Provide weekly, monthly, quarterly Application updates/reports to Director of IT Service Delivery
  • Work collaboratively with IT teams and cross functional business partners, to take advantage of and develop best practice frameworks, methodologies, and service delivery collateral across the organization.
  • Establish trustful relationships with internal and external stakeholders by building collaborative two-way dialogue to ensure strategic alignment and execution against goals and targets.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the effectiveness of the team through new working practices or through collaboration and preferred 3rd party vendor partnerships.
QualificationsEDUCATION
  • Associate degree or bachelors degree in software engineering, computer science, information technology, information systems, computer engineering, or similar.
Microsoft MTA, MCP, MCSA, MCSE Certifications are a plus.EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of 5 years related work experience within Financial Services Industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience with Microsoft .net Applications, or combined experience in IT software testing and support. Experience with SQL Server Management Studio is a must.
  • Experience of customer facing systems with complex back-office system integrations.
  • Knowledge of high-volume transaction systems and demonstrable ability to simply describe these in business English.
  • Building and managing key relationships with internal and external business partners.
  • Excellent understanding of contemporary IT methodologies and practices.
  • Ability to demonstrate resilience and pragmatism in the face of a challenging and continually changing environment.
  • Functional knowledge of financial instruments such as Installment Loans, Payday Loans, Checks, and industry domains such as loans, underwriting, collections, call center, Fraud, etc.
SKILLS
  • Solid business relationship management skills and the ability to manage and articulate complex issues.
  • Ability to rationalize regional IT priorities and opportunities with enterprise business and IT strategies.
  • Strong background in Ecommerce solutions and retail systems, especially in large-scale environments.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycles and best practice methodologies.
  • Experience leveraging geographically diverse and offshore IT support teams.
