Ready to start your career*The Opportunity*Univeris is in the midst of an exciting transformation of our industry-leading enterprise wealth management portfolio, focusing on product growth and market expansion. To help achieve our objectives, Univeris is looking for an experienced Business Analyst to research and analyze industry and client data analysis to help define new products and capabilities to bring to market.*The Role*The Business Analyst supports Product Management and works closely with cross-functional product development teams to fulfill the following responsibilities:

  • Analyzing market and client data, trends, and behaviours in the wealth management industry in support of product development initiatives
  • Conducting multi-channel research and analysis to establish requirements for new products and capabilities and demonstrate the business value of the proposed work
  • Sharing research findings, market information and business insights with the product teams to give context to the requirements to help ensure that the team is solving the correct problems
  • Reviewing existing product capabilities to identify gaps and technical debt
  • Preparing, refining and validating user stories and relevant acceptance criteria in collaboration with agile product development teams, Product Management and other stakeholders
  • Defining and monitoring product performance metrics and sharing trends and insights with product teams and leadership
  • Continuously developing and documenting relevant industry and product domain and expertise and sharing that knowledge with the product team
  • Aid in prioritization of the teams work backlogs in collaboration with the team and product management
The Successful CandidateYour Formal Qualifications
  • 4-7 years of industry experience as a Product or Business Analyst, preferably working with an Independent Software Vendor (ISV) selling B2B software products
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technology or business-related field
  • Understanding of Agile software development principles and using Scrum for software development

  • Communication - able to clearly and concisely communicate in verbal and written form to both internal and customer stakeholders, with emphasis on understanding the customers perspective
  • Organization - being very consistent and structured in managing information, documentation, Agile boards and other artifacts produced
  • Learning agility - ability to learn new business and technical concepts quickly and apply them in delivering value
  • Critical thinking - demonstrates advanced problem-solving abilities
  • Time management - ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and operate successfully in a matrix environment
  • Technical competency - familiarity with software development and analytical tools and processes, such as Google Analytics, GIT, SQL, Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Office or Google G-Suite
Extras You Might Offer As Tiebreakers
  • Working knowledge of regulatory agencies and frameworks, ideally in the Wealth Management, Investments or Finance domains, such as the CSA, MFDA, IIROC and CRA
  • Experience working in the Wealth Management industry
  • Experience trading stocks or making personal investment decisions
  • Understanding of software development processes and techniques, such as J2EE, SQL, Spring, API
The Work Environment
  • Our location is in downtown Toronto in a small office environment
  • Work may be in-office, remote or hybrid, collaborating with other team members in-personal and digitally during regular business hours
