Job Description

Position OverviewThe Business Analyst serves as liaison between users and IT teams to analyze business and functional requirements and establish data requirements and processes related to existing Global Financial Solutions (GFS) applications and creation of new administration and data strategy. Assists in evaluation of business requests to determine requirements, feasibility, and recommend business solutions.Responsibilities

  • Assists to develop, validate, document, and maintain business and functional requirements and conducts structured walkthroughs of requirements with business and project team members.
  • May work with project teams to support requirements gathering
    • Analyzes data in support of integration of applications
    • Facilitates the identification of business requirements and their definition
    • Facilitates and/or develops processes to support improvement or efficiencies in the business function through use of technology
  • Assists to develop test matrices and conduct thorough tests (UAT; QA as required). Evaluate defects identified and ensure achievement of requirements prior to the release.
  • Responds to questions from business and IT teams.
  • Assists in evaluation of and tracking of new or enhanced solutions to determine potential issues and communicates how problems may affect business and recommends solutions.
  • Assists in performing task automation and implements process improvements; recommends enhancements that result in increased quality and service.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
RequirementsEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years IT-related experience, such as Business Analysis, Data Analysis, etc.
  • 2+ years experience in life insurance sector and/or LOMA Certification would be a decide assets
  • Experience with self-service data tools/Programming language: Alteryx, Python, Informatica, ETL, SQL, etc., are value-added assets
