IntroductionBusiness Automation Technical Sales are the technical experts and advisors to clients, IBM sales teams and/or IBM Business Partners. As a Business Automation Technical Sales you understand the client's business requirements, technical requirements and/or competitive landscape. You apply your business insights, build and maintain client relationships, incorporate hardware, software and services into client-valued solutions and ensure client readiness for the implementation of technical solutions. Start your journey now!Your Role and ResponsibilitiesIn this role the Business Automation Technical Saleswill:Identify opportunities to sell IBM Automation solutions and to progress the opportunities to a closed sale.Collaborate with IBM sales teams to define, design, and detail the technical aspects and feasibility of proposed solutions.Leading technical solutioning and helping clients experience the value from IBM Cloud Pak for Automation by building demonstrations and proof of concepts (POCs) that exceed client expectations.Deliver pre-sales solution workshops, product demonstrations, technical education, and Proof of Concept engagements that articulate the business value for our Integration solutions.Understand IBM’s Automation points of view, the competition in the market, and know how to position IBM’s unique value proposition.Develop re-usable industry specific assets and demonstrations.Collaborate with other internal IBM teams to drive unmatched customer satisfaction.Establish deep technical account relationships at each client site.Support customer escalations, best practice sharing, designing solutions, and answering technical questions throughout the sales process in order to identify, qualify and deliver sales.Enable and support the Business Partner ecosystem.This role requires a consultative, “Hand-on” solutions-focused approach that requires in-depth needs analysis, customized presentations and demonstrations/POC development, and delivery of written proposals and other material to support the sales team. When engaged for a specific opportunity or project, they are responsible for the technical accuracy of the proposed solution.The candidate will use IBM tooling and products to show, rather than tell clients about how IBM solutions will transform their business.Competencies include:Ability to be hands-on and build and deliver custom product demonstrations and proof of concept in a sales context.Ability to communicate effectively and accurately, both written and verbally in English.Proven relationship and organizational skills and the ability to effectively work with multiple organizations.Ability to understand business problems, articulate a corresponding solution based on IBM software, build a value proposition, and establish a compelling reason to act.Understanding of competitive technologies and their place in the market.Required Technical and Professional ExpertiseThe candidate must have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in IBM Automation Software or equivalent. See Critical skills areas.Technical knowledge of Cloud environments and security concepts. Ability to set up proof of concept environment either on client’s private cloud or on Public Cloud (IBM, Azure, Amazon, Google)"Hands-on" technical skills are paramount. Application design and development experience is a plus.Programming knowledge and experience, Java, Java Script, XML, JSON, APIs and scripting skills are highly desirable.Experience working with networking, SQL databases, file systems, and cloud object storageThe ability to effectively showcase and demonstrate solutions/technologies in a customer facing scenario.Preferred Technical and Professional ExpertiseSpecific solution experience in the IBM Automation portfolio (IBM DataCap, IBM Workflow, WDG Automation, IBM Filenet, IBM Operation Decision Management).
