Conducts cost-benefit and feasibility studies. Documents and validates business requirements. Designs and implements both medium and high complexity systems. Develops business solutions, configures applications, and provides quality assurance testing and training for systems and operations-related projects. Researches and reports on operational procedural problems. Provides data to other departments/customers as required.Key Job Functions

  • Implementing and maintaining Infrastructure and Engineering Group’s business systems
  • Formulating and defining system scope and objectives based on user needs
  • Designing and developing proposals, forms, workflows, business processes, data modelling requirements and systems specifications
  • Conducting analyses, assessments and evaluations of departmental practices, procedures, methods and controls as they relate to computing systems
  • Developing test plans, setting guidelines and reviewing test results prior to system implementation
  • Acting as the CMMS (MAXIMO) champion to train end users and enhance its capabilities to improve the department’s asset management strategies
  • Implementing maintenance management strategies and creating master schedules for various types of assets utilizing CMMS (MAXIMO)
  • Leading workshops with staff to elicit and document business requirements, developing business and data process flows and developing strategies
  • Examining and assessing weaknesses in systems/practices, and implementing improvements
  • Determining the impact of potential changes, and developing cost-benefit analysis for proposed changes
  • Preparing and presenting KPIs, progress reports, agendas and summaries
  • Creating, maintaining and ensuring data integrity of all databases related to the work and coordinating data collection, data entry, and running of database audit reports
  • Acting as the ITS representative for the department
  • Performing other related duties as assigned
  • Participating in the TTC Customer Service Ambassador Program

Education and Experience
  • Completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
  • Several years of directly related work experience.
Additional Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of information systems and computer technology concepts, principles and practices and their application in a business environment (CMMS, MAXIMO, SharePoint, Document Management System)
  • Proven track record in implementing asset management strategies, (RCM, PMO would be considered an asset)
  • Strong knowledge in implementing CMMS or other similar applications
  • Experience in scheduling maintenance activities through MAXIMO
  • Comprehensive knowledge of systems analysis and database design concepts and practices
  • Good understanding of project management concepts and practices
  • Knowledge of end user support functions and data security/audit principles and procedures
  • Knowledge of current office automation technology, PC hardware/software and relevant application
  • Ability to plan, conduct, coordinate and execute projects associated with the development, implementation and maintenance of information systems
  • Knowledge in RCFA – root cause failure analysis methods or any other structured problem solving approach (5Why’s, DMAIC etc.)
  • Good judgement; well-developed analytical and problem solving skills; effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skill
