We are a dynamic community-based health centre promoting social justice and health equity in the Regent Park neighbourhood and east downtown area of Toronto. We operate out of several locations and provide a wide variety of services including: primary health care, chiropody, physiotherapy, health promotion, social work, community health, immigrant and refugee services, housing assistance, harm reduction and homeless programs, Pathways to Education for high school students, infant and child development programs, parenting education and family advocacy.Job SummaryThe Career Development Counsellor is responsible for the implementation of the youth employment program, aimed at addressing youth underemployment and unemployment in priority neighbourhoods, through a series of accredited skills training, employment services, and quality employment opportunities.The Career Development Counsellor reports to the Program Coordinator – Employment and Youth Enrichment. The program provides employment training, job development services, and employment placement opportunities for youth and adults (ages 15-29) who are at risk of dropping out of school or involuntarily “not in employment, education or training” (NEET). The Jobs4U program helps to equip clients with employment skills and identify job opportunities through a series of accredited skills training and employment services.This is a full-time contract until October 31st, 2022.
