Job Description

Description du posteInspection of high precision-machined components to drawing and specification using Coordinate Measuring Machine and manual tools/techniques to ensure timely delivery of Aerospace products to both internal & external customers.

  • Responsible for the inspection and acceptance of detail parts, in various manufacturing stages, assemblies, fixtures and gauges, using CMM or other appropriate measuring devices.
  • Verify dimensions and surface finish of machined parts according to drawings and specifications, using manual measuring instruments/tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, comparators, and other specific measuring equipment.
  • Understands, implements, and maintains the Companys quality policy through the performance of all duties and responsibilities
  • Identify items for acceptance or rejection, and document findings with specifications to ensure conformance to standards.
  • Raise and submit Nonconformance Report (NCR), including all applicable data when rejection occurs.
  • Complete First Article Inspection and Final Inspection as required.
  • Read and interpret a wide range of approved technical data including Model Based Definition (including CATIA models), Engineering drawings and applicable manuals and specifications.
  • Assist and interact with Manufacturing, Design and Quality Engineering personnel concerning part conformance and process capability.
  • Identify, analyze, and report measurement problems and support CMM Programming personnel.
  • Assist in training other employees in CMM operation.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Work in a team environment or independently, under minimum supervision to complete tasks.
Exigences du poste
  • 5 years relevant experience in a manufacturing environment (e.g. military, aerospace), knowledge of aircraft industry requirements, and general inspection practices.
  • Documented training and experience with CMM operation (PC-DMIS preferred) required.
  • High competency and understanding of GD&T required.
  • Competent in using a wide range of measuring instruments/tools, gauges and techniques to inspect machined parts and features.
  • Ability to read & interpret Model Based Definition (including CATIA models), Engineering Drawings & applicable manuals and specifications.
  • Familiar with Office computer programs (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational, time management and competent decision-making skills to ensure completion of tasks in a timely manner.
  • The ability to work shifts is required.
  • Knowledge of CMM Programing (PC-DMIS) an asset.
  • Knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations an asset.
  • Knowledge of our QIS would be an asset.
  • Must be comfortable in a fast-paced work environment and possess good interpersonal skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Works well in a team environment, build and maintain positive employee relationships.
