If you would like to learn more about us, we would love to hear from you.Fresenius Kabi Canada is seeking a Document Control Specialist to join our pharmaceutical Quality team on a 20 month contract!The Impact You will Make:The Document Control Specialist supports the Manager, Quality Systems in updating company policies and procedures, updating third party contract laboratories and fabricators with updated test methods and specifications. The Document Control Specialist helps to create, implement, and maintain good document control and process establishment to ensure the company is in compliance with the GMP and all ISO standards, as required. This position also interfaces with users of controlled documentation to ensure conformance to regulatory standards.

  • Maintains and controls document control logs for document assignment and change controls
  • Initiates the Document Assignment and Training forms for new controlled documents
  • Maintains reviewer, approver and trainee lists for controlled documents in coordination with department managers
  • Works with stakeholders to prioritize and queue controlled document updates to meet global and local standards and regulatory requirements and meet target completion dates
  • Organizes and makes available draft/marked up copies of controlled documents in preparation for document update
  • Reviews SOPs for completeness, accuracy, formatting, and grammar in the electronic document management system to maintain company standards
  • Routes documents for review and approval as per the reviewer/approver list in the electronic document management
  • Assists in development and updates policies/procedures for controlling documentation within the company using Documentum
  • Provides back up assistance to edit, standardize and make changes to company controlled documents (i.e., SOPs, CPIDs, Job Descriptions, MBRs, etc.) provided by others to meet company standards and industry best practices, as required
What You’ll Bring
  • Knowledge & Experience. You possess a college degree in business administration with a minimum of five to eight years work-related experience. Previous technical writing or publishing experience background is required, as well as experience with an electronic document management system (preferably Documentum). Prior experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry is preferred. Knowledge of document control best practices is an asset.
  • Communication & Presentation. You are a skilled communicator, both written and verbal, with high attention to proper grammatical rules and guidelines.
  • Attitude & Passion. You are self-motivated, possess initiative, and able to work productively with minimal supervision. You have proven your ability to adhere to standards and procedures and maintain continuous confidentiality.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills. You maintain strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask and handle fluctuating workloads simultaneously. You have excellent project management and follow up skills and are deadline oriented with a strong ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Computer Skills. You are proficient in Microsoft® Office.
