Job Description

Who We AreONxpress Transportation Partners (ONxpress) was chosen by Metrolinx and Infrastructure Ontario (IO) to enter the Development Phase of the On-Corridor Works project – the largest project in Metrolinx’s GO Expansion.Unprecedented in its scale and complexity, this multi-billion-dollar capital program will transform the GO regional rail network with electrification, more frequent service, shorter journey times and a more modernized system for the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area.Accountability

  • Gathering and interpreting project data from both internal and external sources and influence and advise on corrective actions when necessary.
  • The Planner/Scheduler will gather and interpret data from a variety of sources to conduct schedule analysis and provide essential reporting to support the project team to ensure successful completion of assigned projects.
Responsibility
  • Plan, review, and establish milestones for projects. Review project work activities to ensure support of project milestones.
  • Work closely with the project team, develop and maintain project schedules for multi-year projects in Primavera P6 from contract documents and provide critical path analysis and constructability.
  • Gather and interpret project data from both internal and external sources and with discussion with all stakeholders
  • Provide planning and scheduling support for various crews/teams.
  • Identify schedule considerations and problems resulting from interdisciplinary interfaces.
  • Assist the monitoring, reviewing, and analysis of the schedule and status during all phases of the project, including the analysis of any schedule deviations and corrective actions.
  • Analyze subcontractors schedules, while forecasting and trending completion target dates to ensure contractor plans are realistic and achievable. Report deviations accordingly.
  • Maintain schedule forecast throughout the project life cycle by verifying schedules are properly updated and linked to the master schedules.
  • Monitor and report critical path and schedule performance of the total project.
  • Assist with project schedule analysis and studies of problem areas to determine criticality of schedule and seek the advice of the Project and Contracts Manager.
  • Review or assist in reviewing contracts related to schedule and develop supporting data for contract negotiations.
  • Provide the Project Team with timely, informed, and up-to-date project schedule information including trends and forecasts as well as planning input to project reports.
Education & Qualifications
  • Completion of a degree in Engineering, business or related field – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
Work Experience
  • 3-5 years’ experience in the Transportation sector preferably in Passenger Rail Transit industry,
  • Minimum of 3+ years of passenger rail experience in Fleet/ Rolling Stocks
  • Fundamental understanding of project schedule and timeline, schedule management and planning.
