About Hanson CollegeHanson College, established in 2001, is a private educational institution that delivers college diploma programs and language training programs to international students. Our three campuses are Toronto, Brampton, and New Westminster, BC. Join Hanson to change life trajectories through education for generational impact in the global community.We are hiring an HR Coordinator to support all our campuses.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform the full cycle of the recruitment activities, including hiring requests, job postings, resume sourcing, screening, interviewing, reference checks, and employment agreements preparation;
  • Handle all administrative tasks for on-boarding, new hire orientation, including entering data into HR information systems and auditing for accuracy and compliance;
  • Maintain confidentiality with all employment-related matters within the organization; promote an “open door” environment with all employees;
  • Respond to concerns and conduct through workplace investigations; provides support throughout investigations by facilitating the process for either a disciplinary or performance-related issues
  • Improve manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems; evaluating potential solutions; implementing selected solutions; coaching and counseling managers and employees for HR related tasks;
  • Develop human resources solutions by collecting and analyzing information; recommending courses of action;
  • Implement and execute HR policies as set by the Corporate Human Resources department;
  • Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, employee directory, organizational chart, and contributes to the development of policies;
  • Ensure legal compliance of the HR state and federal regulations and applicable employment laws; update policies and/or procedures as needed;
  • Keeps up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practices;
  • Support and administrate compensation and benefits;
  • Maintain internal hierarchy with regards to pay; develop and maintain a salary administration plan for the organization;
  • Make recommendations with regards to pay, merit increases, and salary structure maintenance;
  • Ensure the organization is compliant with the various wage and hour laws; implement and maintain a creative performance evaluation system for all employees.
  • Create and conduct training and development programs for the entire organization (i.e., anti-harassment and discrimination, AODA, health and safety);
  • Work with managers to create and implement on-the-job training opportunities for all employees;
  • Track all training programs and employee participation to measure utilization of skills learned as well as evaluating additional training resources or needs.
  • Manage the organization’s employee database and prepare reports;
  • Work with the campus leadership on various events and initiatives throughout the year that support and improve employee engagement.
Education and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or relevant field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of exposure in progressive human resources generalist roles with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and HRIS.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Team player with a client-centric mindset and positive attitude.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • A good understanding of employment legislation and regulations (ESA, OHSA, Ontario Human Rights Code, AODA, etc.)
