It also provides exposure to various aspects of finance such as accounting, reporting, and analytics.What will you do

  • Co-ordinate and complete the monthly and quarterly finance functions for SLC’s third party business, including the accounting close, chart of value requests, intercompany processes, bank disbursements, controllership functions, reporting and analytics.
  • Support operationalization of accounting models and ledger set-up.
  • Ensure that an adequate control environment is maintained for SLC and coordinating a stable control environment with SLC’s subsidiaries.
  • Support reporting and analytics for SLC’s P&L including partnering with business partners to understand and explain the results.
  • Work closely with the many teams within SLC; providing finance oversight, guidance and issue resolution, as applicable.
  • Support and lead various strategic initiatives impacting SLC, such as Project SunRise, the GL replacement initiative.
What do you need to succeed
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) with related university degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Progressive experience within financial management functions (5 -7 years).
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and conceptual skills. Ability to apply technical knowledge to business issues, and have the confidence to challenge and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to build and maintain strong relationships with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong time management skills and able to handle conflicting priorities while driving desired results.
  • Ability to operate in an environment experiencing rapid change, and work under pressure to meet demanding response times, while paying strict attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; Experience with Hyperion; SAP; Oracle; Tableau, and experience building reports will be valuable assets.
The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
