Job Description

The clients we serve are the engine of global commerce and economic growth, and we are focused on developing leading professionals and services to meet their evolving needs in today’s ever-changing business environment.RSMs CFO Services team within the Management Consulting practice provides strategy, advisory services, and hands-on assistance to improve the overall effectiveness of the finance function.We are looking for a Manager to join our CFO Services Practice to work with businesses in diverse industries while managing teams to deliver projects on time, on budget and in line with client expectations! You will work on numerous projects per year, managing several pieces of assignments, not just one small part, and you will feel a great sense of accomplishment when you are done!   • Lead the execution of projects to help optimize all elements of the finance organization including:
o Finance Operating Model Assessmento Business Process Improvemento Finance Technology Assessment and System Selectiono Shared Services Implementationo Business Case Developmento Post-Merger Integrationo Finance Automationo Finance Transformationo Finance Technology Deploymento Finance and Accounting Staff Augmentation (i.e., Finance Loan Staff)
  • Drive high-quality work within expected timeframes and on budget
  • Monitor progress, manage risk and ensure clients are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes
  • Embrace a ‘hands-on’ approach as needed to help clients overcome specific challenges including support with accounting month/period-end, data clean-up, data review and data reconciliation, and direct support with accounting standards adoption/transition (e.g. transition to IFRS, adoption of new accounting standard)
  • Get regularly involved in internal and external business development activities and identify new opportunities through various channels
  • Understand firm capabilities and have ability to expand client service across lines of business
  • Manage engagement and project financials
  • Develop industry specialization and drive targeting, marketing, and training activities within the industry of focus
  • Build client relationships and deliver quality client services
  • Oversee and drive multiple concurrent projects to completion and assist our clients uncover additional areas of opportunity and manage the business development process
  • Develop new products, solutions, and deliverables for the rapidly changing finance environment
  • Provide mentoring and motivate diverse client engagement teams by delivering constructive on-the-job coaching to team members, while fostering an innovative and inclusive team-oriented work environment
Basic Qualifications
  • 6-10 years’ experience working in a large organization, professional services firm or CPA firm
  • 2+ years of experience leading and managing project teams
  • Experience as a team member, team lead or project manager on at least one full life cycle implementation
  • Expert understanding of the finance and accounting function and the people, process, technology and controls that support that function
  • Subject matter expert in various financial business processes including Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, Record to Report, Close and Consolidation, Acquire to Retire, and Forecasting & Planning
  • Chartered Professional Accountant designation and/or MBA
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
  • Executive presence and an understanding of stakeholder/client relationship management
  • Proven experience collaborating with clients and other professional services areas
  • Ability to travel more than 50% locally and internationally
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting
Preferred Qualifications
  • Operational Finance and Controllership experience
  • Functional understanding of finance technology/ERP application capabilities including NetSuite, Intacct/Sage, Microsoft Dynamics, BlackLine, Workiva, Adaptive Insights (Workday), and/or Oracle EPM/Hyperion
  • Functional understanding of digital and automation technologies including Robotic Process Automation (RBA), digital assets (Blockchain)
  • Understanding of and expertise in accounting standards, including IFRS 17, IFRS 15/ASC 606 and IFRS 16/ASC 42
  • Experience in defining systems strategy, developing systems requirements, designing and prototyping, testing, training, defining support procedures, and implementing practical business solutions under multiple deadlines
  • Experience in the development of teams
  • Exposure to or experience in mid-market industries and demonstrated commitment to gaining exposure to multiple industries
  • Industry or profession-focused certifications (e.g. Six Sigma, PMP)
