Job Description

We are a privately owned endodontic practice with a small volume of patients that we treat in a tranquil setting. We are looking for a principal chair-side dental assistant who is comfortable assisting with administrative tasks when needed. The ideal candidate will be friendly, punctual and able to communicate well with patients and referring practices.Requirements:

  • Level 2 certification
  • Reference from a previous employer (dentist)
  • Live/commute easily to our downtown location
  • IPAC is up to date by the time of hire
  • CPR up to date by the time of hire
  • WHMIS up to date by time of hire
  • Must be able to fluently speak and write in English
  • Must be highly proficient with computers and dental software
  • No sponsorships and no candidates without college certification
Schedule:
  • Tuesday 11 - 8 pm or close
  • Wednesday10 - 7 pm or close
  • Friday 9 -2 pm (flexible)
Duties:
  • Don and doff PPE following IPAC standards.
  • Set up and tear down rooms.
  • Sterilize according to IPAC standards and protocols.
  • Daily Harp Testing and Recording.
  • Take x-rays with RINN with and without rubber dam capturing the apex.
  • Working knowledge of endodontic setup and armamentarium.
  • Chairside assisting root canal therapy, retreatment, and apical surgery.
  • Communicate with referring doctors’ offices, patients, and pharmacies.
  • Record notes into a chart when dictated by a dentist.
  • Utilize dental software.
  • Keep track of invoices and inventory, and order and organize supplies.
  • Maintain inventory, make orders, restock.
  • Assist in light cleaning duties
  • Maintain and update emergency box
  • Water testing
  • Flushing lines
  • Equipment maintenance.
  • Check in patient and seat in treatment room
  • Take vitals
  • Answer phone calls and complete comfort calls
  • Submit insurance claims/estimates
Compensation:
  • $24-32/hr based on the ODAA/ODA wage report.
