Become part of a strong and successful company that’s trusted by millions of Canadians to do the right thing.Be your best at Canada Life.We are looking for a Field Ops Personnel Agent (12 month Contract)Given the size and scope of our organization, we have the flexibility for this position to be located in the following head office locations: Toronto, London, Winnipeg.Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Contracts & Licensing (formerly Assistant Manager, Field Ops & Recognition), this position is suited for an individual who shows strong attention to detail, is highly motivated with excellent analytical and problem solving skills and thrives in an environment that is constantly changing. A Field Ops Personnel Agent will be accountable for onboarding and administration of career events affecting the Advisor Solutions channel as well as other types of onboarding outside of Advisor Solutions, assist with various administrative tasks and data input into various compensation systems. You are a facilitator between the advisors and field mgmt, as well as the regulatory boards and securities commissions. The successful applicant will be expected to learn and become familiar with the rules and processes as well as the legal requirements of the governing boards for each province and be able to apply that knowledge to a variety of scenarios to determine what is required from both a legal and systems perspective.What you will do

  • Analyzing eligibility and handling the onboarding of various types of advisors and admin staff, working closely with them providing direction and support with regards to obtaining their life and mutual fund licenses
  • Reviewing applications and handling the issue and termination of life and mutual fund licenses in all provinces in accordance with Canada Life (CL) guidelines, provincial (resident and non-resident) Insurance Council regulations and MFDA (Mutual Fund Dealers Associations) compliance regulations
  • Developing and maintaining good working relationships with the Insurance Councils and Securities Commissions as well as internal and external business partners
  • Providing support and guidance to advisors, mgmt and business partners through the registration and maintenance of life and mutual fund licenses as well as career events, in an accurate and timely manner
  • Handling unique and complex issues and problems as they arise
  • Updating and maintaining contracting & licensing information on various systems including the Rep/Org database, the National Registration Database, Investment Centre, Siebel, FASAT, etc.
  • Other administrative duties as required
