Job Description

We’re an international media company, looking for a smart, organized and professional production editor to coordinate the publication of Canada’s most prestigious legal directory, Lexpert. Lexpert is Canada’s leading source of news and information about the business of law. The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory includes profiles of leading practitioners across Canada in more than 60 practice areas.Responsibilities include:

  • liaising with lawyers regarding directory materials, schedules, deadlines, verification and general inquiries
  • managing production schedules for print and online products
  • updating and editing articles, biographies and other editorial content (for spelling, grammar and style issues)
  • managing the proofing and approval processes for print and online products
  • reviewing final proofs (layout, page flow and pagination)
  • coordinating, uploading and updating online material
  • regular use of Excel to an intermediate level
The candidate will have:
  • an interest in legal publishing
  • strong tertiary qualification or related work experience
  • strong verbal and written communication skills
  • a keen eye for detail
  • excellent interpersonal and people skills
  • strong organization and project management skills
  • the ability to work under pressure with minimal direction
  • the ability to manage deadlines while balancing multiple priorities
  • a customer service mindset
  • experience using Excel (intermediate level)
