A true partner at the table, our clients trust us to deliver results that matter.We are looking for a Public Relations Account Manager to join our team in the Toronto office. The Account Manager will be responsible for directing strategic planning, coaching team members, and managing the execution of client programs.In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with clients across industries both nationally and globally. As a Manager, you will play a key role in fostering collaboration and inspiring junior team members.The ideal candidate is an experienced PR pro with existing media relationships looking to lead a team and leverage strategic thinking to develop programs directly impacting our clients’ business.Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of accounts immersing yourself in each client’s business and providing senior-level counsel to clients and team members
  • Conceptualize + build impactful PR and social media strategies to meet client objectives and secure robust media coverage
  • Anticipate client needs, identify solutions, and coach team members to provide service excellence and value
  • Provide senior leadership across accounts by managing resources, budgets, and running programs that deliver results
  • Manage results and reporting to ensure effectiveness of client programs, switching gears as needed.
  • Provide strategic guidance on social media plans to coincide with PR efforts
  • Manage junior staff and provide day-to-day mentoring, and constructive feedback to nurture growth and elevate development
  • Write communication materials (e.g. pitches, news releases, media advisories, social media content, etc.)
  • Leverage existing media relationships as well as cultivate new contacts
  • Monitor PR, social and digital media trends to guide agency wide discussions and spark creative dialogue
Qualifications:
  • 6-7 years of public relations agency experience
  • Post-secondary degree in public relations, journalism, communications, or related field
  • Proven track record building and executing successful public relations strategies at both a local and national level
  • Excellent client management and relationship skills
  • Proven experience managing and motivating teams towards a common goal, and fostering collaborative and inclusive team culture
  • Strong writing skills (must be able to write error-free and grammatically correct press releases, media pitches, social content, client communication, etc. )
  • Expert problem solver, creative thinker, who challenges the norm and pushes boundaries of PR to deliver results
  • Highly, organized, with strong time and project management skills
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and hands-on approach - willing to jump in where needed
  • Flexible, adaptable, and responsive to quick turnarounds
