The successful candidate will be an internationally recognized leader, scholar and respected clinician. This candidate must have the leadership qualities and business skills necessary to direct a large department, while fostering an environment of academic and clinical excellence. The candidate will be the chair holder of the Ontasian Chair in Paediatric Diagnostic Imaging at SickKids.The Department of Diagnostic Imaging is dedicated to improving and enhancing patient care and the health of children. Our department is subdivided into specialties: CT, GI/GU, Image-Guided Therapy, MEG, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound and X-Ray. Our mission is to be a benchmark paediatric radiology site by embracing new technologies and utilizing state-of-the-art equipment efficiently and effectively. We provide an environment that supports and promotes clinical, academic and research excellence, and builds departmental clinical research expertise focused on the strengths of the adjacent clinical and research community. The Department is a full partner in the University of Toronto’s Residency Training Program and supports a fully-accredited Fellowship Training Program in Paediatric Radiology with fellowship opportunities available in all domains of paediatric Diagnostic Imaging. There is an active research program, and strong collaborations with the Research Institute.Applicants must possess a Medical Degree or equivalent and be trained in paediatric radiology. Applicants must be certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or an equivalent of the Canadian Royal College Fellowship in Diagnostic Imaging and be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. Candidates should also be eligible for an academic appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor in the Department of Medical Imaging at the University of Toronto. All candidates must be proficient in English. Estimated remuneration will be in a range of $450,000 to $500,000 per annum and commensurate with academic rank, qualifications and experience with opportunity to earn more based on additional fee for service earnings. The successful candidate will be eligible for a benefits package which includes medical, dental, life insurance, long term disability insurance, pension plan and which may include a relocation package. This is a full-time permanent role.
