Course Description: This course is to introduce graduate students to the programming language R.The course will teach the students how to install R on their laptop and then use R to perform statistical analyses of data.The course consists of twelve hands-on sessions, each lasting one hour, where students login online (or if permitting be in person) with their computer for class assignments and lectures, each of these assignments.Estimated Course Enrollment: 15Estimated TA Support: Not applicableClass Schedule: Twelve sessions (each one hour long) over twelve weeks. Day and times are flexible.Sessional dates of appointment: January 2023 - April 2023Salary: Based on appointment size at the minimum stipend rate of $8,489.69 (inclusive of vacation pay) for a half course.Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates staated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shal prevail.Qualifications: Applicants must have convocated with a Ph.D to be given consideration for this position.Candidates should possess a doctorate degree in relevant discipline or in a closely related field and demonstrate expertise and mastery of the subject area. The applicant must be familiar with the types of data management that are commonly seen by students in the Biochemistry Department.Description of Duties: Design and implementing twelve practical lectures on using R.
