Legal history is a strong and engaging field of study in Canada. Topics will include constitutional histories, treaties, law-making, differing systems of land tenure, the franchise and the structure of deliberative bodies (e.g. legislatures), courts and systems of justice, policing and criminal law, punishment (including histories of incarceration and alternatives).Estimated course enrolment: 45 studentsEstimated TA support: N/AClass Schedule: Friday 13:00-15:00 online synchronous lecturesSessional dates of appointment: January 1, 2023-April 30, 2023Salary:Sessional Lecturer I: $8,489.67Sessional Lecturer I, Long Term: $8,869.25Sessional Lecturer II: $9,085.58Sessional Lecturer III: $9,301.90Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.Minimum qualifications: Master of Arts in History or related field required.
