Come be a part of the team.Job DescriptionThe Team:In many ways, the teams at Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE) are brought to life by its fan-facing content. What we read, watch, listen to beyond the game on TV are all vital pieces of how fans experience the teams they love. MLSE is as much a media and content house as it is a partnership of sports organizations and enterprises.The Digital Content Department oversees all owned team channels (social channels for Raptors/Toronto FC/Leafs/Argos). Working alongside our Brand team, the digital team leads the social voice of our teams, speaking to millions every day. We strive to deliver content with a purpose, formatted for each channel, and continually optimized. We seek opportunities to grow our fan base and find new and innovative ways to distribute our content.The Role:This role reports directly to the Manager, Digital Content Strategy (Red Vertical – Raptors/Toronto FC) and is passionate about crafting a story across all our social feeds. They will be a people manager and understand how to lead and inspire a team and promote career growth across their direct reports. They will manage the social media team and work together to bring our brand to life for fans through a multi-medium approach. They are constantly thinking of new ways to engage fans and help deliver against MLSE’s business objectives. The right candidate lives and breathes the social cultural trends and sees opportunity in how our brands can join the conversation. Youll partner with the other members of the Digital Content team, both in a direct and indirect reporting structure, to bring our work to the next level.This is not your typical 9-5 job. You are a major part of our storytelling that occurs on game days and you’ll be expected to work for home and away games, and off days supporting the larger digital content team depending on the workload and where the team(s) are at in their seasons.Responsibilities:

  • Ideate and execute social content plans for brand campaigns, retail, league initiatives, and game day
  • Manage all executive stakeholder communications and content needs
  • Ideate and document Digital Content ideas and pitch to respective stakeholders
  • Support in creating social media strategy, and execute strategy throughout year
  • Stay on top of all trends and competitive creative output
  • Manage and publish across multiple (team) accounts including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok alongside your team
  • Coordinate and brief all creative agencies, freelancers, and direct reports on required work, social channel distribution & social specs
  • Work across multiple departments to bring social content to life in various channels
  • Manage all contract workers (video, editorial, photography, etc.) inclusive of finding talent, managing contracts, managing schedule, and invoicing
  • Manage Game Day run of show across all digital owned channels inclusive of managing vendors, curating creative assets, capturing planned content and providing live social coverage during the game
  • Build relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders including Team Front Offices, Media Relations, Public Relations, Brand, Partnerships
  • Manage direct reports workloads and guide them through various projects throughout the year

  • Proven experience in social media marketing with expert knowledge on social media platform best practices, specs, and trends
  • Exceptional people leadership experience and skills with the ability to manage social content coordinator(s), their business needs and career development
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and lead a large team and brand moments throughout the season
  • Creative thinking skills with the ability to provide creative solutions to deliver against business objectives
  • A positive approach, incorporating integrity, confidentiality, and discretion
  • Knowledgeable about sports at large, teams, phraseology to deliver exceptional social copywriting
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to manage the social content calendar ensuring all content is published on time
  • Ability to build and grow professional relationships cross-functionally and with stakeholders
  • Proficient in full Adobe Suite
