This is a full-time position in the exciting and upcoming field of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).The ideal candidate will possess both the technical skills and communication abilities to work with our Client to maintain business relationships and continue growth in discussing and assessing our clients needs.The Systems Integrator must be astute with a range of computer software, networks, databases, operating systems and technologies and with the processes required for installing, testing, troubleshooting and maintaining computer networks, related software and hardware.Along with the technical expertise the ideal candidate must posses the dynamic personality and communication skills needed to lead meetings, work planning, and convey the path forward for immediate and medium-term tasks.The position requires working in person 9 hours a day (9AM-5PM) from the client’s office along with the ability to provide remote support during off hours.The Systems Integrator must have at least 5-years of progressive experience in a similar role.Responsibilities:

  • Attending and coordinating meetings to gain knowledge on the systems and software.
  • Coordinating with City staff to review, update and create SOPs and documentation for operations, systems, troubleshooting procedures and processes.
  • Liaising with the IBI TOC team on any aspects of their work that they are having challenges with and assisting in resolving those issues (mostly to do with hardware and software) used by the TOC.
  • Troubleshooting systems and items raised by the IBI TOC team or City staff.
  • Ability to lead meetings, work planning and convey the path forward for immediate and medium-term tasks.
  • Ability to prioritize work and identify to the General Management of IBI as to support needed to accelerate the work.
  • Provide an overview of the work activities from a week to a month and engaging the City to ensure the City staff are available to support in accomplishing the work and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to manage client expectations and guiding of discussions and program vision.
  • Ability to have a view for upcoming business opportunities, future planning for additional software solutions and on call services.
QualificationsThe Systems Integrator will be the lead in communicating with the Client, documenting system procedures and policies through the creation of standard operating systems, identification of processes, enhancement of operations processes, and overseeing and assisting with the integration of new equipment feeds into the Traffic Operation systems.Examples of software/hardware systems include, but not limited to:Advanced Traffic Management SystemsVideo Management Software system e.g. GenetecVariable Management Systems e.g. Ledmaster, Vanguard, etc.Field Systems such as Bluetooth systemsTraffic Control Systems e.g. SCATS, SCOOT, TransSuiteThe Systems Integrator shall also monitor and maintain the network used to support the applications and systems at the Traffic Operations Center. More specifically, the Systems Integrator shall:
  • Ensure the network is running properly.
  • Ensure software updates are installed and affected systems are tested.
  • Troubleshoot system issues including issues due to software updates.
  • Provide monitoring of field networks (both fiber and cellular).
  • Provide device configuration parameters (i.e. IP, gateway, etc.) for new devices implemented in the field or for devices being replaced.
  • Configure head-end network and systems.
  • Undertake the first level of troubleshooting, maintenance and repair to the internal systems and network.
  • Work with Transportation stakeholders, partners and service providers as required
  • to support maintenance, modification, integration and upgrade works.
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOP) related to administration and well-being of the network and the integration of the different systems (hardware and software).
  • Develop, document, and maintain installation and configuration procedures with each system.
  • Document and update records as required with maintenance, upgrade, integration works in line with the developed SOPs.
  • Responsible for the timely completion of all project work assigned.
  • Regular internal & external communications on project statuses.
  • Monitor network performance/degradation and recommend/implement changes to improve or rectify issues.
  • Update work logs using an internal ticketing system on actions taken and issue details.
Additional InformationWe are currently in a work from home model during COVID-19 but when we do return to the office were located at 55 St Clair Ave W, Toronto, ON M4V 1N5, Canada.Located at 55 St. Clair Ave West, this office is steps away from St. Clair station and is easily accessible by bike, TTC and car.
