Job Description

ANDX is seeking a web development manager who will be responsible for managing ANDX website and e-commerce development projects for our end clients. The web development manager will have experience managing and leading a team of contract web developers, provide expert guidance to business and marketing stakeholders, performing regular maintenance and reviews, and ultimately ensure a high-quality product is delivered to our clients. The web development manager is expected to have meticulous attention to detail, outstanding problem-solving skills, experience with WordPress and WooCommerce. In addition, Web Development managers must handle many tasks in their day-to-day jobs to successfully build and run a website.While this role is a work from home opportunity, there may be times when it is expected that the incumbent may work from our Toronto office.RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working closely with a project manager, marketing, and IT team members
  • Collaborate and consult with Marketing and Project Management teams on client website projects, providing expert guidance on UI implications, cross-browser compatibility, SEO, mobile friendly views and other web functionality aspects and standards
  • Estimate and provide agile based development plan that includes design, development, quality assurance, user acceptance testing and release milestones
  • Develop or lead contract developers to develop WordPress and WooCommerce websites according to approved designs, including back-end servers and databases as required
  • Provide regular maintenance and security updates to all client and company hosted websites
  • Monitor and troubleshoot any website issues
  • Internally report key performance indicators for each client and internal website to internal stakeholders
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Strong experience with WordPress, WooCommerce, HTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP
  • Proficient in managing website databases and WordPress plugins
  • Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML)
  • Experience in website testing, including performance and cross-browser compatibility testing
  • Managerial experience, including recruiting and leading a small team of website developers
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot website issues quickly
  • Able to offer expert consulting, guidance, and support
  • A creative thinker who can balance a standards-based approach with thinking outside of the box
  • Fluent in English with excellent written and oral communication skills
  • A clearly demonstrated work ethic that is focused on delivering on time, on budget and with high quality
