Station Operations Coordinator - YYZ

Primary LocationNorth America-CA-Toronto-Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ)ScheduleFull-timeUnposting DateAug 6, 2022, 10:59:00 PMOrganizationCanadaRole & FunctionThe Station operations coordinator works within an airport for a ground-handing company. He or she establishes documents for the captain and the flight dossier. He or she are also in charge of supervising the various platform staff, passengers boarding and disembarking, fuel supply, catering, and all flight departure essential services. The Station operations coordinator manages a whole team of ramp agents in charge of the aircraft following its recommendations. He or she must take good decisions to not threaten the passenger’s safety and guarantee the plane on time departure. Role & Responsibilities
  • Perform overall supervision of flight and responsible for the safety, on time departure of flight and maintain customer service level;
  • Meet the aircraft and commence driving CCO and record the information required by the carrier/ handling company;
  • Monitor and record of supplier and staff performance will be conducted as required and manage/ correct any issues as they arise;
  • Conduct ad hoc briefing to ramp staff which requires immediate action;
  • Timely report safety and security related incident to concerned department for follow up;
  • Responsible for the economic, punctual and safe planning and execution of the various aircraft handling processes during the aircraft ground time.
  • Remainder at the aircraft during the entire ground time and coordinates all processes in all areas of responsibility which may arise during the course of aircraft handling, as locally defined;
  • Steer and control the work routines with internal and external parties, includes crews and keep track of vendors performance;
Operational Processes
  • Coordinate weight and balance documentation with load control;
  • Maintain daily trip files and station traffic report as well as all aircraft-handling related statistical data
  • Operational safety/load security checks on aircraft prior to departure, which also includes the coordination of all operational activities during irregularities;
  • Coordinate all phases of aircraft handling, including catering, cleaning, fueling, loading/unloading, crew and passenger boarding/de-boarding;
  • Ensure all cargo or luggage is properly tied down or secured in the compartments;
  • Responsible to keep track of the number of passengers, pieces of luggage and the amount of fuel;
  • Provide daily monitoring report to the Manager about handling, performance, document delays and reasons;
  • Ensure implementation of new procedures, processes or product features and enhancements;
  • Plan for and ensure that irregularities are always handled in accordance with customer, economic and legal considerations;
  • Report any flight handling irregularities to management as locally defined;
  • Support the development and modification of processes and procedures with the aim of improving quality, efficiency and effectiveness;
  • Be able to support or trouble shoot all station related processes;
Quality and Provider Management
  • Ensure that service level agreements are adhered to by all providers;
  • Ensure and foster required quality awareness throughout daily operation;
  • Ensure proper training for all team members relevant to their individual tasks;
  • Strive for consistent quality and service improvements;
  • Provide timely and systematic feedback to the service providers;
  • Coordinate the activities of service providers
  • Responsible for specified resource planning up to given limits;
  • Actively support passenger service related processes when called upon;
  • Ad hoc liaison with Federal, Local authorities and airport operators in regards to regulations and or practices directly effecting day to day operations;

Administrative Duties
  • Maintain regular communication;
  • Maintain all manuals and local instructions and keep them up to date;
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent;
  • Experience in the airport environment, essential;
  • Knowledge of weight and balance, essential;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English and French;
  • Ability to work in a team environment;
  • Must possess strong organizational and multi tasking skills;
  • Customer focus and quality and safety awareness;
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and aviation systems;
  • Ability to take immediate decision and resolve any operational issues quickly;
  • Willing to travel for training purposes;
  • Available to work on various shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays).
