Job Description

Position: Parts Inventory PersonReports to: Parts Manager, TruroStatus: Full-time, 40 hours/weekShift: Monday – Friday; 7:30 am - 4:00 pmAnticipated Start Date: 2 August 2022Nova Truck Centres , a division of Nova Enterprises Limited, is a Freightliner and Western Star dealership with five locations across Nova Scotia. Recognized as an Employer of Choice by the Trucking Human Resource Sector Council Atlantic, we are a dynamic company within a competitive market and poised for growth.What the position is about: Under the supervision of the manager, the Parts inventory/core/return maintenance person is responsible for coordination of cores and parts returns shipments and inventory maintenance for our Truro location. This includes, but is not limited to; packaging items, printing labels, weighing packages, organizing shipments and receiving product at the loading area, cycle counts and bin maintenance.What you will be responsible for :

  • Performs core and part returns duties and accurately tracks shipments and return credit invoices.
  • Performs inventory control; cycle counts, bin maintenance and organizing new bins.
  • Ensures all products shipped are properly identified and verifies quantity and quality of goods shipped.
  • Ensures proper documentation of packing slips and return paperwork.
  • Assists with loading/unloading of vans/trucks as necessary.
  • Operates forklift(s) as required.
  • Complies with all established operating procedures and safety standards.
  • Ensures that work area is always clean, organized and secure.
  • Provides back up as needed for other warehouse personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned by an authorized supervisor/manager.
What you bring:
  • Minimum High School Diploma/GED
  • 2 years of experience with shipping/receiving products and driving forklifts.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clear driving record
  • Proven computer knowledge; ability to learn in house programs.
  • Flexibility required to work overtime as may be required.
  • Physical requirements – frequent sitting, standing, bending, walking and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a team setting or independently.
  • The ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
  • Strong Communication Skills - Written, Verbal, Interpersonal, and Phone
  • The ability to deal professionally and tactfully with supervisors, co-workers, customers, and vendors.
  • Previous experience in an auto or truck dealership is an asset.
