Job Description

General Accountability

  • Reporting to the Lead, Project Systems, the Business Analyst will be responsible for analyzing, documenting, and improving project management processes and systems, ensuring successful delivery of the Integrated Capital Project Management solution within budget and timeline constraints. The ideal candidate must be detail oriented and have a strong understanding of capital project management principles, excellent analytical skills, and exceptional communication skills.
Specific Accountabilities
  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.

On a project assignment - either individually, or by directing a consultant:
  • Gather, document, and analyze business requirements from Subject Matter Experts
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including project managers, project controls, operations, and finance teams to work to resolve discrepancies and reach and mutual understanding.
  • Develop and document detailed functional specifications, use cases, and business process workflows.
  • Work closely with system implementation teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Provide detailed review of key project documents and deliverables.
  • Support the testing and validation of the system, ensuring its effectiveness and alignment with business requirements.
  • Support data migration efforts, engage with end users and project team to ensure a seamless transition.
  • Support development of training materials, storyboards, and training materials.
  • Monitor project performance and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
RequirementsSkill Requirements
  • Bachelor #39;s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of capital project experience, with preference to mining/industrial projects, is required.
  • 3+ years of capital project experience in an Owner’s role is required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in project management and project controls techniques and principles is required.
  • Strong knowledge of the engineering and construction industry is required.
  • Experience with user acceptance testing is required.
  • Experience with data migration is required.
  • Experience with training material development is required.
  • Experience with report development is required.
  • Experience with Scalable Agile Framework (SAFe) is required.
  • Experience with Azure Dev Ops an asset
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills is required, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving abilities are required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, taking ownership of assigned tasks and delivering high-quality results.
  • Proficiency in project management software, such as Microsoft Project or Primavera, is an asset.
  • CCP, CEP, PMP or other similar designations considered an asset.
  • Spanish an asset
