Job Title: Mechatronics Engineer - Automated Chemistry Technology****MUST HAVE CHEMISTRY EXPERIENCE********Please DO NOT APPLY if you do not have experience in Engineering related to CHEMISTRY, LABORATORY or PHARMA****Location: Vancouver, BC, V6T 1Z3Employment Type: Full-time, OnsiteSalary: CAD $80,000 - $120,000 + BenefitsAbout Us:We are a Vancouver-based chemical technology company focused on developing scalable manufacturing processes and tools for the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. Our innovations include flexible robotic platforms and AI software that enhance experimental throughput and data quality.Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Robotics, Automation Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in designing, developing, and implementing automation technologies, preferably in a chemistry or laboratory setting.
  • Proficient in Python, with experience interfacing with APIs and code debugging.
  • Comfortable working with and debugging electronics and lab equipment.
  • Experience with parametric CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360).
  • Familiarity with UPLC/HPLC instruments and Chromatography Data Systems.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Automation Technology Development: Design, prototype, and optimize new automation systems for chemistry workflows within self-driving labs.
  • Systems Integration and Maintenance: Oversee integration of automation systems with existing laboratory equipment, troubleshoot, and maintain platforms.
  • Technical Communication: Prepare research presentations, support grant proposals, and assist in manuscript preparation.
  • Lab Safety: Comply with safety protocols related to chemical use and environmental management.
