Job Description

Equivalent ExperienceDescription:We are looking for a process oriented and organized IS Support Technician with a good understanding in Tier 2 technical support. As the IS Support Technician you will serve as the first point of contact, and a primary source for resolutions and expertise, in the area of Tier 2 support for all of the organization’s internal technology needs.You will be responsible for receiving, prioritizing, documenting and actively resolving end user IS requests, and escalating incidents when considered appropriate and necessary to maintain service level agreement expectations. You will also be responsible for deploying computers, printers, and other equipment, ensuring end user satisfaction of the deployment and completing the return of older equipment.This position is in Valemount, British Columbia and on shift work.Duties include:

  • Supports and troubleshoots the IT infrastructure which includes: workstations, laptops, hardware, software, servers, printers, networking, remote access, connectivity, Skype phones and voice systems.
  • Adhere to ITIL processes as documented & actively participate in the development of new processes that adhere to best practices or ITIL methodology.
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots problems with individual or multiple computer systems to maintain proper functioning.
  • Escalates issues as required to the appropriate team to ensure the overall quality of information service delivery is being maintained at all times.
  • Effectively manages work and meets service level agreements through the utilization of ITSM tool.
  • Logs incoming calls and all customer questions and issues accurately and efficiently into ticketing system.
  • Uses Microsoft SCCM to provide consistent and efficient Software deployments and imaging of computers.
  • Assists with ongoing moves, additions and changes to computers.
  • Supports MS Office 365 ProPlus suite of products, and a variety of specialized applications.
  • Ensures knowledgebase documentation are kept up to date.
  • Participates in team-based initiatives as required.
  • A demonstrated focus on customer service excellence.
  • Site setup in remote areas which includes setup network equipment in trailers and running network cables from trailer to trailer as required.
  • 5 + years’ Desktop Support experience in a large enterprise environment.
  • Strong Knowledge of Microsoft based operating systems and software (Windows 10 and Office 365 ProPlus, Skype for Business 2016 and SharePoint 2016.
  • College diploma or University degree in the field of Computer Science.
  • Previous experience with Active Directory. Creating user accounts, resetting passwords, adding and removing computers from the Domain.
  • Experience with network and desktop printing solutions.
  • Previous customer service experience, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent troubleshooting capability, with the ability to diagnose and solve technical issues.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Process and procedure oriented, and extremely organized.
  • Flexible, with a demonstrated ability to embrace change and handle changing priorities.
  • Strong analytical, technical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated, with a strong ability to work both independently and with teams and managers as appropriate.
  • The ability to lift 22 Kg (50 lbs.).
  • Valid class 5 drivers license as traveling is required.
  • Ability to periodically travel and stay overnight is necessary.
