Acadia University is proudly located onMi’kma’ki, the ancestral territory of the Mi’kmaq People.Faculty of Professional Studies, School of EducationContractually-Limited Term Position- Counsellor EducationPosition #30223CLT– The School of Education invites applications for a 5-month contractually-limited-term positioneffective December 15, 2022 and concluding May 15, 2023 in Counsellor Education at the rank of Lecturer or AssistantProfessor. Applicants with the appropriate experience will be considered at the rank of Associate or Full Professor.Acadia University’s Master of Education (Counselling) Program is accredited by the Council on Accreditation ofCounsellor Education Programs.Applicants must possess a graduate degree in Counselling, Counselling Psychology, or a closely related discipline, withpreference given to candidates who possess, or are near completion of, a doctorate degree. Applicants must beregistered or certified by a professional counselling body. In addition, applicants must have a minimum of five yearsprofessional experience in the practice of counselling, with priority given to those with greater depth and breadth ofexperience. Counsellor education experience in graduate teaching, the provision of clinical supervision, and a developingresearch program in the discipline of counselling, will be considered assets. The successful candidate will teach in theMEd (Counselling) program, which may entail travel to off-site cohorts across the Province.
